Dozens of Paraplegics exist among refugees who lack the special requirements necessary for adequate living such as electric wheelchairs, adaptive beds and toilets, mobility equipment and trained therapists. Many Albanian citizens are willing to serve as medical assistants for a modest $590/month (500 Euros).
There are 31 individuals among refugees who are in need of prosthetics, either for one or two limbs, above or below the knee, etc. There are no facilities in Albania that build artificial limbs. The total cost for needed limbs is $177,137.
The prevalence of eye problems among refugees is very high due to harsh living conditions. Setting up an ophthalmology clinic appears to be a very cost efficient means of managing this problem. The resources needed vary with total costs averaging about $142,981.
